
New this year, the UVa mobile mammography unit had appointments available for 17 mammograms. Our goal was to reach women who had never had a mammogram, and there was a grant in place to pay for uninsured women all the way through a biopsy, if necessary.
19 women got mammograms, several for the first time! 5 were uninsured.

Also new this year, the First Annual Kid's Walk drew 75 kids! More youth involvement was a goal of the committee this year, and we think Tina did a great job!

Virginia Blood Services brought its mobile unit to Relay for the first time, hoping for 25 donors. They were so pleased that 47 blood donors volunteered, that they plan to return next year.
23 useable donations!

Cody Covey made a big impression on us this year, when he agreed to grow his hair for Relay For Life as a fundraiser.
A rowdy crowd gathered to see Mary Cripe shave his head, and many were moved to donated their hair to Locks of Love (I mailed in 8 donations of hair !) Cody raised almost $1500 !

The 2nd Annual Poker Run was organized by Robin Gilmer and Rick and Leanna Davis. With 100 bikes registered and a great After-party at Earlyhouse, the run was a great success. $3500 raised!

Louisa County came in 6th in the Nation in per capita giving in our size range!
